You must have basic swimming skills. The dive resort would ask you to to swim for 200m and float unaided for 10 minutes in sea. You must be confident enough to do that. It is easier than it sounds as long as you know basic swimming well.

In that case your divemaster would train you for Scuba Diver Course rather than Open Water Diver course.

The 1-2 dives you did are called Discover Scuba Diving(DSD) and are very different from the Open Water course we offer. DSD is meant for tourists who just want a taste of diving without learning it. Check out this PDF on the differences between DSD and OWC.

Absolutely not. Open Water is the entry level course and the perfect way to start learning diving.

It would pretty much occupy your whole day; you would have breakfast around 8:30AM and then your diving lessons would begin. You would get free around 5PM, after which you are free to do whatever you want.

No, alcohol impairs judgement and your divemaster would deem you unfit to go for diving if you have consumed alcohol.

Remember, once you consume alcohol, your diving for the day is over.

The local currency is Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). As of July 2015, Indonesian law mandates rupiah must be used for all transactions in the country. IDR 1,000,000 (yes, million) is roughly equal to INR 5,000 or USD 70, EUR 60. Simply put, IDR 1,000 = INR 5 (Indian Rupees).

There are plenty of ATMs on Gili Trawangan, including one just around the corner from Blue Marlin, next to Bank Mandiri. Please note that withdrawal limits are usually around 10,000,000/day (USD 750).

As discussed above, we are getting an excellent flight routing and getting flight tickets is difficult for the same as we have only made a provisional reservation with the airline. Hence the earlier you book the better it is as you reserve your ticket and a spot for a cool dive vacation.

Yes, the resort itself has quite a few vegetarian options like pizza, pasta, burger, sandwich, pancakes etc. Also, there are lot of restaurants nearby (less than 5 min walk) offering more vegetarian options including Indian restaurant. And it goes without saying, there will be lot of options for non-vegetarians as well.

Unfortunately, no, you cannot as we have arranged the best of flight, private ferry and road transfers, lunches and accommodation not to mention superb diving experience, it would not be possible to do that on different dates.

Gili isles consist of 3 islands. Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air. Gili Meno and Gili Air are generally quiet and filled with luxury resorts and that’s why they are more known for couples and honeymooners. Gili Trawangan is one of the most exotic islands out there, famous for its crystal-clear beach, extremely cool party atmosphere and most of all being a diving paradise.

It has cool shacks all along the beach, the exile ‘a mighty swing in the water’ (see the picture) and motor vehicles are banned here, so you can rent a cycle and roam around the lovely island.
